My Lifestyle Routine: How I Maintain A Healthy, Balanced Life


Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is vital for your mental and physical well-being. A balance of work, rest, exercise, and social time will help you feel less stressed and more grounded. That's why I've created the lifestyle routine that I follow during the week to stay on top of my game. Here are some tips for how to maintain a healthy lifestyle like mine.

Eat healthily and make it work for you.

Eating healthy can be a challenge. You need to eat enough protein and carbohydrates, but not as much fat or sugar. I've found that eating a muffin in the morning with my coffee makes me feel full and gives me extra energy for my day. I also like to bring leftovers from dinner to work for lunch, so I don't have to eat fast food. Don't forget to drink water and avoid drinking too much alcohol because it can dehydrate you and cause headaches.


Exercise for 30 minutes a day

I've found that working out is extremely helpful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For me, this means exercising for at least 30 minutes a day, four or five days a week. For example, I alternate the days between the gym and yoga. But no matter what I do, it helps take my mind off work and puts me in an energized mood that lasts all day.

Get enough sleep

Sleep is so vital for your mental and physical well-being. It is necessary to set a time to go to bed and sleep at least 7 hours a day. If you're not getting enough sleep, you're going to be more stressed and less productive throughout the day.

To make sure I've had enough sleep, I wake up around 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. and then head back to bed around 10:00 p.m. In addition, I make sure to use my downtime during the day wisely by catching up on emails, reading a book, or getting ahead on my work tasks.

I also try not to use electronics (cell phones) too close to bedtime because they emit light which can keep me awake later than I want to be.

Limit your social media time

Social networks are already part of your daily routine. It's hard to go for even a few minutes without checking your phone, which can lead to an endless cycle of checking your phone. You might be tempted to scroll through Instagram or Facebook when you have a spare moment, but it can really take up your time and cut into your work time. It is best to check all networks in the morning or only in the afternoon so as not to interrupt breaks or work. This way, I don't have to worry about what's going on when I'm working because I know that when 5 p.m. rolls around, I can just enjoy scrolling through my feed for a while.

Take care of your mental health.

Your health goes beyond your physical form; it's also about keeping your mental health in check. It'll be easier to make the right food choices and get the exercise you need when you feel good mentally.

You can do some things every day to maintain a good balance and take care of your mental health. For example, try talking with someone at work or a family member you trust when feeling anxious or sad. Socializing will help release those negative feelings. You could also try doing something you enjoy, like reading or gardening, for 30 minutes each day. Just remember that if your mental health is affected negatively by an event, talk to someone before it becomes too much for you!


Make time for yourself.

In order to take care of your family, friends, and work commitments, it's important to also take time for yourself. My day starts early with a cup of coffee and breakfast. I use the morning hours to work out and get my mind right. I find that when I exercise in the morning, I have a more productive day throughout the rest of the day.
